Day 4 The Metro, Sainte Chapelle, Notre Dame, D' Orsay

Our Metro Station, Gare Saint Lazare
we loved the Metro, awesome way to travel

Except for all the stairs...

1st we came down

follow the feet for the train # you need

escalator down
then stairs

finally the train!

 now exiting...

 more stairs...

and more...

and now Sainte Chapelle, 1 hour wait- the longest for anything we visited in Paris
bottom floor
up a few stairs...

the faces say it all...

amazing!
exterior view

next door-
The Concierge and prison cells

this is a replica of Marie Antoinette's cell

Notre Dame

the gargoyles

We also visited the Archeological Area beneath the Notre Dame Square.
Here you can see foundations from earlier settlements in Paris.

On our way past the Luxemburg Gardens and Palace

The Orsay Museum
my only regret of the trip is not having set aside more time to spend here.
it was incredibly crowded.
but
Magnificent!
