We took an early train to Lugano, Switzerland (the Italian Region)
We were originally going to take a train to see the Matterhorn or other mountain countryside, but the weather in these areas was stormy. Instead we opted for Lake Lugano, near the Italian border.
Turned out to be a great alternative
The snowy mountains we passed on the way.
soon gave way to sunshine!
We took a boat tour of Lake Lugano
while on the boat tour of Lake Lugano, we entered Italy for about 5 minutes,
